A Chess Set is a collection of 32 chess pieces, including 16 pawns, 4 rooks, 4 knights, 4 bishops, 2 queens and 2 kings, each in two contrasting colors or finishes, typically black and white or dark and light. Additionally, a chess set usually also includes a chessboard, a square board divided into 64 squares of alternating colors upon which the pieces are placed for game play.
