Chessboard

A chessboard is the type of gameboard used for the game of chess, upon which the chess pawns and pieces are placed. It's usually square in shape, with an eight-by-eight grid of 64 equally sized squares. The squares are alternately colored in contrasting colors, typically white and black or a similar pair of shades.
