Chess Terms : Mobility Explained

Mobility

Mobility refers to the number of possible moves a player has in a given position. A piece's value is partly determined by its mobility. The more mobile a piece is, the more threat it can pose to the opponent's pieces and the greater its strategic potential. Having good mobility often allows a player to control the game by limiting the opponent's possible moves and by creating offensive opportunities.
