Optimal Play in chess refers to the utilization of the best possible strategies, tactics, and moves in a game, which theoretically should yield the best achievable result under perfect play. This implies making moves that avoid foreseeable losses or mistakes, while pushing for opportunities to gain an advantage, either by capturing more valuable pieces, placing the opponent in check or checkmate, or positioning one's own pieces for better offense and defence.
