Chess Terms : Overloaded Explained

Overloaded refers to a situation where a piece is given too many defensive tasks (guarding multiple pieces or squares). The overload of responsibilities often renders the piece unable to adequately protect all the elements it's responsible for, subsequently making it vulnerable to tactical exploitation.
