What is Philidor Position?

Philidor Position refers to a crucial theoretical rook and pawn endgame scenario in chess, named after legendary French chess player Francois-André Danican Philidor. It's exemplified by each player having a rook and the player whose turn is next also having a pawn. This position guides the player with the pawn on how to draw against the player with the rook in order to restricting the movements of the rook and achieving a stalemate. Additionally, it also illustrates how the defending player can capitalize on a mistake by the opponent to win the game.
