Premove

Premove is a function available in online chess play that allows a player to make their next move before their opponent has completed their current one. This move is then automatically made on the player's behalf as soon as their opponent's move has been made. However, if the player's pre-selected move is not legal following their opponent's move, the premove will be invalidated. This function is designed to save time on the game clock.
