Relative Pin

A relative pin is a situation where a piece is pinned and is not legally movable only because moving it would expose a more valuable piece to be captured or attacked. Unlike an absolute pin, where moving the pinned piece is illegal, a relative pin limits strategic options but is not governed by the rules of the game.
