Chess Terms : Short Castling Explained
Short castling, also known as kingside castling, is a chess move involving the king and the rook. In this move, the king is moved two squares towards the rook on its initial square, and then the rook is moved to the square the king skipped over. Short castling can be performed if the king has not been moved, the rook in the king's side has not been moved, the squares between them are not occupied, and the king is not in check or will not pass through or land in a square attacked by an enemy piece. This move is considered a safe way to protect the king and connect the rooks.
