Swiss Tournament

A Swiss Tournament refers to a type of chess tournament in which each participant competes against an opponent who has a similar running score, but not against all other participants. It is named after the country of its origin, Switzerland. The number of rounds in a Swiss Tournament is predetermined, and each player is paired using a set of rules designed to ensure that as far as possible, each player plays opponents with similar current scores, but does not play the same opponent more than once. The winner is the player with the highest aggregate points earned in all rounds.
