Tall Pawn

A Tall Pawn is a chess term used to describe a piece, particularly a bishop, that is prevented from any mobility and reduced to a purely defensive role, so it is essentially no more useful than a pawn. The term is named after the chess grandmaster Mikhail Tal, known for his aggressive playing style and ability to limit the mobility of his opponent's pieces.
