Chess Terms : Threat Explained

Threat

A threat in chess is a move or series of moves that creates a potential advantage or places an opponent's piece in danger of capture or a player’s position in danger of a strategic disadvantage. A threat often forces the opponent to respond to handle the imminent problem, thereby deviating from their strategy or plan.
