I suspect your obsession with envy is infact a reflection of your own disposition towards other people and little more than the outward expression of inner insecurity. You need other people to be jealous to fulfil a perverted sense of self, if they don't feel jealous you fabricate their jealousy to help you deal with their contentedness and happiness, because you are neither.
