First of all, welcome to the site.
secondly, there have been some fixes put in earlier this year.
Not perfect but they help.

At issue here is that the damage was done before the fix.
So some human intervention will be required.
Programmatically speaking, this is called a data fix.

In more general terms, it will be called punishment for the perpetrators
of the fiasco that has been the main topic in this forum this year.

The clan at the top of the clan tables will be facing a significant rollback
of its' points gained this year if the petition gains some traction.
