I checked and i guess it is what you call current bands playing punk rock. Avril Lavine uses the term. therefore it must be bands like Green Day.

I've also heard the term used by gays and people who actually don't listen to punk rock. Apparently, Hilary Duff uses the term, too.

Current Green Day maybe. They're old stuff isn't bad. But either way, I think it's a bit harsh to mention them along with Avril Levigne. Not that anybody should be mentioned with her, though.

And modern "Punk Rock" is garbage. Green Day started it, with help from The Offspring. It should be relabelled as "Kid Rock"
