It's pretty obvious that the raid on Cohen's offices yielded documents that showed that the Donald did, contrary to his statements, reimburse his lawyer for the Stormy Daniels payout. Rudy was trying to do preventative damage control, but his story is so unlikely that even Laura Ingraham didn't buy it.

The beginning of the end or the end of the beginning for Trump? There's no way prosecutors don't find that a payoff right before the election wasn't an illegal campaign contribution no matter what funds were later used to reimburse Cohen.

It's entertaining to watch Trump and his lawyers contradict each other on national television though. I wonder what the prosecutors think of that? 😀

If Trump had kept his yap shut, this could all be behind him.

Every time he opens his mouth with no collusion, witch hunt, crooked Hilary, dirty Comey, etc, etc, he just keeps the light shining on himself.

    Add to that ....

Not only that - the evidence against Cohen must evidently have been so overwhelming that even his phones were tapped. The raid might have been a consequence of Dorito Benito ordering evidence to be destroyed. If so, Donnie is more screwed than Clifford was during their fated 2006 encounter.

In fact, during the primary debates with Jeb Bush, Donald Trump claimed to have committed perjury in court (he contradicted statements made under oath about a planned casino expansion into Florida). But like everything else, it somehow didn't matter to his idiot voters.

Trump had to have done something wrong in his life.

Why is it sooo hard to find something for the Dims?

In fact, while the GOP is still in power may I suggest them appointing a special prosecutor to investigate the next Dim President to being impeachment proceedings on them as well, cuz I'm sure they have done something wrong in their lives as well.

Actually, it would be nice to do this for members of Congress as well. Can you imagine someone like Charley Rangel being held to such high account with over 20 ethical violations? The man broke so many laws, but then, targeting him would have been racist.

Try to vary your News sources Mack: The Republicans have dropped their weapons and are in full retreat. Reminiscent of Iraq's Republican Guard fleeing Kuwait.

Rudy committed the most grievous error for a Trump administration figure; he slipped and told the truth on Fox and Friends:

“Imagine if that came out on October 15, 2016 in the middle of the last debate with Hillary Clinton. Cohen didn’t even ask. Cohen made it go away. He didn’t even ask.”

    https://www.thedailybeast.com/giuliani-links-michael-cohens-stormy-daniels-payoff-to-2016-election

Since admitting that the payoff by Cohen right before the election was meant to aid Trump's chances of winning makes it clearly an illegal campaign contribution, Rudy had to walk that back with a very unconvincing "clarification".

At any rate, no prosecutor is going to buy the BS Trump party line that the payoff was just to avoid embarrassment to the Donald's family and would have been done whether he was running or not - the alleged affair happened in 2006 yet the payoff wasn't done until two weeks before the 2016 election. The math is pretty easy to do.
