It strikes me peculiar that the Syrian refuges walked all the way from Syria, through Muslim dominated countries like Turkey, all the way to the West for help. That is one heck of a hike where many died along the way.

Why? Is Islam incapable of human compassion, especially for their own Muslim brethren? Is Islam that toxic and hate ridden?

Does this prove once and for all that the Christianity influenced West if far superior to Islam?

I assume most atheists here would dismiss the notion that Christianity has influenced Europe welcoming the immigrants.

If so, why then? Was it guilt from killing off all the Jews?

    Syria borders Turkey.
Turkey sticks them in crappy tent camps without food (Turkey wants various concessions from Europe).
The refugees take whatever floating devices they can find and try to get to Greece.

Europe has agreed to spread the Syrian refugees to lessen the burden on Greece.

    Not so much a hike.

The UNHCR reports that refugee numbers exceed 4,000,000, mostly in Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan and Iraq. The response of Saudi Arabia and other Muslim countries to the refugee crises come under intense media scrutiny. Claims are made that these countries are not accepting Syrian refugees, while other media outlets report that these countries provide visa extensions and family reunification for Syrians unable to return home. Saudi officials claim the Kingdom has given residency to between 100,000 and 2.5 million Syrians, though these numbers are widely disputed

Why would a country like Turkey, who refuses to pay the victims of the Armenian genocide they engaged in, let alone admit that they had a hand in it, help the refugees in any substantial way?

So perhaps its not Islam in Turkey that is the culprit. Perhaps the people of Turkey just suck. So why did they not go to Jordon, Saudi Arabia, or make their way to Iran?

Turkey helps refugees in a far more subtantial way than the USA despite a collossal difference in relative wealth. The US however cheerfully gives aid in the form of American manufactured weapons, often distributed to jihadists fighting other jihadists. As we know for example from Clinton's emails, but frankly also from the public writings of Henry Kissinger and others, the US and Israel have a policy of promoting conflict and balkanisation in the region.

Lebanon's generosity to refugees is legendary. Without having evidence - not looked but maybe you should - Iran may be less attractive in view of the growing hostility between Sunni and Shia, something the Americans fostered actively during their stay in Iraq, and also fostered by our well armed ally, Saudi Arabia.

Why do you reckon those Muslim countries turned up their nose at their Muslim brethren?

Hillary wanted to kill off the Muslims?

I thought she wanted to bring a bunch of Syrians to the US.

I never said it was wonderful. I said it was substantial, and in fact mine was also a relative statement - relative to Turkey's resources.

Your claim that refugees are coming to Europe instead of neighburing muslim states is false, a lie, untrue. Most are indeed in neighbouring muslim states.

Turkey has not caused the mayhem in Iraq and Syria. Why should Turkey carry so much of the burden to handle the impact of America's illegal invasion of Iraq?

You conceded that there are many Muslim states that refuse to help and have come under criticism for it. Why do you think they took that position? Did they adopt your attitude that the US is to blame so they should deal with it?

well, in case you're dumb, i can explain that while Turkey's help is more immediate than the US, obviously once you get in it's better to be in the US or western Europe. That's why, if you have the brains, you can understand where both Finnegan and shav are coming from.

as for hospitality and your need to "prove" christianity is better than islam, i ask again: are you dumb or trolling? it isn't the "christian" west that is more hospitable than islam. it is countries like Germany or Canada that are more hospitable than an oppressive regime like Saudi Arabia. Hungary is christian, it is not accepting refugees. US is constantly coming out as bible thumping, it only accepted refugees after 2 years of vetting and bureaucracy and now wants to actively ban them.

if you're dumb, you can educate yourself. if you're trolling you can go love yourself.
