Animated GIFS?

Are these really a none starter for use as avatars? My little Ted takes
a long time to show up - is this somthing to do with the site or
something I've done wrong?

Just testing:

Hi Rhymester,

Try to put that GIF on another web server. It takes ages here and I've
got a pretty fast line!
Sometimes the connection times out.
Same when I paste the url
(http://hometown.aol.co.uk/rhymsta/images/RHT5050a.gif) directly
into the browser so I bet the problem is somewhere at
hometown.aol.co.uk site.

I tried the Hostdepartment thing this morning about 5 times and
again this evening - kept getting a 'too many connections' error
message. My Ted is there straight away for me now - how is he for
you?
