I use Photoshop and Imageready to create and format my pics. Then you have to host the pics somewhere on the web (many use free services like Imageshop) and link to it from RHP.

I did the clan banner for the Chess Fanatics (Clan 24433) and the Chess Club (Clan 24444). Fun and simple.

Whatever you do, make sure that the banner dimensions are correct. Nothing is more stupied than looking at a distorted banner because the creator didn't bother to resize it. The correct dimensions are 150 by 60 pixels.
