I'm getting overwhelmed by clan games..How do I temporarily suspend my status.

MySettings > MyClanSettings
Untick the relevant box. The colour of your icon on the clan page will change to show that you are unavailable, and you'll no longer come up in the challenge list that the clan leader gets. Do the same thing in reverse when you're ready to accept new clan games again.
