Colour contrast on board

Is there a way to change the colour of the squares to show more contrast between light and dark squares?

You can make changes by goiing to 'settings'.
If you're using a computer on the website, click on your avatar in the top right part of the page, then look for settings.
If you're using a cell phone or other device, look for 'preferences' to make changes.
