Interestingly, computers are not permitted here. One might think that allowing a computer to play, so long as it was identified as such, would be an asset to the site, as the site could have a filter to allow challenges with humans only and also not let computers join tornaments or clans. That would allow humans to challenge the computers and "test" their strength against them. Why not?

Well, this site is all about the social interactions and sense of community that goes along with the chess. Presumably, anyone that has a computer can go and find a computer program chess opponent, and certainly for a less expensive rate than a membership here.

Masked computers at this site are a problem. They distort the competition and frustrate players of all levels, so they are banned when they get detected.

If you want a good computer opponent try Arena. It's free! Once you have Arena you can download Houdini (also free) and import it as a chess engine.

Yeah for a long time it had a computer opponent it was called Ironman 31
