Empty "sent messages" file?

Can I clear-out/empty/delete my "My Sent Messages" file. How do I do this? Thanks.

No, you cannot.

Only the message receipent can delete your (sent) messages.

No.
Any messages showing there that are bold have not been read by the recipient, and those that have been read are sitting in the recipients 'My Messages' folder.

They don't last forever. Eventually the system purges mail (I think it's about a month or so)
