OK on the clan thing what does the kick mean? And what does availability or unavailabilty do?

Kick allows the clan leader to dismiss a clan member.

Members of a clan can put themselves available and unavailabe for duty. When they are available they show as yellow, on duty, when they are unavailable they show as white, off duty. Off duty members are automactically excluded from any proposed challenges.

This can be toggled by the player on the "My Settings" / "My Clan Settings" page.
