open invite accepted, but game not there

I received an email that player xxx had accepted my open invite; when I went to "my games" my two open invites were still there and no sign of the game 'accepted' by player xxx.

This has happened once before (with the same player) - does it mean player xxx is accepting and then immediately deleting the game?
