If he/she is, usually there's a green light next to their name unless they turned that feature off.

The green dot only means a person has made a move within the past ten minutes, if that feature is not turned off. They can disable the green dot in their settings.

If they logged off immediately after moving there could still be a green dot for ten minutes, while they are actually already gone.

So to answer your question, there is no way to know if someone is currently logged on or not.

In the 'Find Player' section you will see a wee radio box.

Is online now? it's the last button.

If you click that and search for the player it will tell you if
he/she is logged onto the site.

See the post from mwmiller.

The Is Online Now? tick box only searches for those green dots - a feature you can turn off in your profile settings.
