I am trying to move but the square turns pink and knocks me back. The move is legitimate. Any ideas?

You should look more closely. Pink squares mean that you are trying to make an illegal move.

You are probably in check. I believe the pink is probably a reflection of our embarrassment the first time it happens to us!

You're currently at 0-11, I've seen worse, plus you have a good attitude. Just a quick look at your games and I see you just give pieces away for nothing and sometimes fail to recapture when your opponent takes one of your pieces. Perhaps take a minute more to look at what threats your opponent is making.
