provisional rating

i know it is provisional - 20 games - but why is it dropping? - i have won all my games so far - it should be rising - ga-gah!

lame jokes will be discarded - aren't you God? - don't you know? - go-gah!

It is easy to win if you play against lower (far lower) players. Then you lose rating even if you win the game.

If you had won only stronger players your rating would have been far higher.

Actually, since he has been playing mostly players with p1200 rating, meaning they aren't defined either, he had no way of knowing if his opponents were higher rated or not.

I suppose that's the reason his rating is erratic until 20 games are finished. And no sane player with a stable rating will agree to a challenge against someone with a provisional rating since there's no way of knowing exactly what level he's on yet.

ratings - is up good or bad? I was thought lower rating was good in chess, but I've only played against computurs before so I'm outa the loop.
