recs??? what the heck?? :)

Hi can anyone tell me what a rec is. I have zero to date. Don't know if i should be proud of this (i.e. having zero) or embarrassed. 🙂

I am clueless as usual, please help.

Subscribers can recommend (shorten to rec) a post they feel is noteworthy. The recs count is how many people have chosen to do this to your posts. So in theory the more recs the better. I say in theory because it doesn't always work the way it is supposed to.
