I'd second an option for smaller icons (or just a text menu): on 800x600 resolution (which I occasionally use), even a small board doesnt really fit the screen.

www.chessatwork.com runs with no 'hot icons' at all.
I could make it an option for RHP too, if that is what people want.
The images should be cached by your browser though, so it should not be causing you too many problems.

One might suggest that the 'chess@work' logo be recast horizontally to take up less vertical height, reducing the problem with low screen resolutions. But that's only a small issue, only of small benifit, and probably not worth devoting any time to.
