startng set piece game

The "New Game" page offers start position with daily chess but also offers start position from a library of mostly just one-move beginning positions. But if i select an opponent by name, this option disappears altogether?? If I set my own board up, the "create new game" command button at the bottom of the page disappears & there seems to be no way to create a set piece game (with or without a named opponent). One more time, for coffee or $$, Russ, please help. Coding conflicts are hard to fix, but having the possibility of set piece games would improve the site.
