I am on vacation next week and my opponent has clearly stated that if I do not make a move within the time limit he will time me out regardless of my vacation setting. Which is ever so slighlty annoying considering its a tournament game and I waited six months for the second round to start....
Anyway I have thought of two soloutions:
1. in my abscence can I delegate a subsitute to take over, effectively keeping my games ticking over until i get back
or
2. Can i play some advance moves i.e. he plays a1-b1 I play a8-b8, etc etc
What does everyone else think?

i don't see either of your suggestions being possible.
but you have a bigger problem in that in the tournament game it will T/O automatically.

This sucks IMO. I play at XXXX, and there you can postpone your games, and have a vacation set. And all your games will be postponed with the amount af days you choose (max. 120 days a year, and max. 30 days in a row). Why is it not so here? Apparently, after what I read, you can timeout, even if you have a vacation set. That does´nt make sense IMO. Can somebody explain this?

EDIT: I wouldn’t normally censor - but as 0 moves have been made, it all seems a bit suspicious to make a post like this with a link out : Russ
