Tagging people

On RHP if I @(persons name), will they get a notification that I have included them in a message / post in the forums?

I don't use social media so not sure how this works.

Generally yes, but not on RHP.

If you REPLY to a forum post, where a tag is added automatically, then a notification is sent. But that is because you replied to a message, not the addition of the tag.

The @ sign before a user's name just creates a link to that user's profile.
