I want to buy a new knife and thought an Opinel might be a good one.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opinel_knife

Does anyone here have one or recommend another?

EDIT:
pro's: cheap, should remain sharp
Con's: no other tools, if it's wet it might not open

I have one. Found it while walking around the outside of a building It was a little in need of love and attention, as the edge of the blade was gouged a little.....Sharpened up a treat, and i would recommend it as a good knife.

What is the knife to be used for?

A metal handle would last longer.

When covered in blood a wooden handle seems to have the best grip, in my experience. 🙂

Hello Trouble!

I like to have something very lightweight, like this:

The metal handle is a plus since it won't stain...from all the blood of course.
😞

Nice little tactical knife.
I love a gal with a bloody knife. That's how I met Mrs. Cold. 😞

Mr. and Mrs. Cold met one night with a bloody knife in hand.....

A love story or a murder scene?

You be the judge!

Edit: The knife is light weight for hiking, fishing, etc....
