    I read the linked article. Gossip has my sympathy, he's remembered as a "Grandpatzer" but was in the top 100 players in the world in his day. The court case denying him a place at Oxford seems to have left its mark in the way he felt the need to publish off hand games he won against the world's best. The novel's somewhat off putting.
