Does anyone here think that the thread creator should have the right to have their thread closed? A reason being that the posts bear no reference to the OP and that the posts have descended into monotonous bickering?

We are able to do that in our local community Facebook hub.

Not that I'd take anything from fb, but l like this idea. Put it to a vote?

Well if someone created a thread they should be able to have it closed in my opinion.

Perhaps Russ may consider a Vote on it as Kewpie suggested?

Optimally better would be a thread creator's prerogative in editing/deleting abusive and/or irrelevant trolling.

But that would be a Moderator's nightmare.

If it was done by Russ, yes he would enforce the rule.

If a person just does it the Vote will not be worth anything.

Yes I like the other idea better, I wouldn't want to be in the Moderator's shoes for sure!!!

Then again I am not a code Monkey, perhaps it could be done another way?

I do like the idea of the creator of the thread being able to have it removed though. Not just certain post(s)

I was just wondering about it being closed rather than being deleted. Could you imagine that happening in Debates? 😀

There wouldn't be much left in the Debates Forum. Good point!

I can't see just removing certain Posts by the thread creator either. That could also be a problem. As you are well aware some would do it just because they could. Then all you would see is one side of the conversation.

I don't take baths I take showers, do you enjoy soaking in your own dirt?

I really don't care if you liked my opinion or not. You see here is where the Creator of the thread could close it down.
