JMHO - the best way to get any chess book is buy it used on Ebay or Amazon. New chess books are overpriced and overrated.

Certainly not Amazon, probably not eBay. Much rather from a second-hand bookshop, specialist or not. Remember, your local bookseller needs you. (And, of course, second-hand book shops smell much better than Jeff Bezos,)

Second hand book shops, where I got a large chunk of my library from was
mentioned along with getting friendly with the owner and they will call you
when they get another batch of books in. (I have four solid contacts in Edinburgh)

In that situation you must buy at least one, even if you have it to keep the link.
The most common book I have bought is 'The Mammoth Book of Chess' which
is a very good book. (50p to £1.00) I happily pass it onto knowing it is a good book.

Then I realised it was about a 'New Book' so let that bit out.

I have a book, bought, obviously, second-hand, which at first reminded me of you and then made me realise it was very much not about you but amusingly so. Remind me to send you a scan of the cover some day.
