The competition to win the Tal Book. ‘My Life and Games.’
(well not quite, I have not thought up a competition yet but
I do give you a picture of the book prize waiting to won!)

Next an unheard melody from a Spassky game.

And then for some reason I start talking about coaching. I really
must plan these things instead of making them up as I go along.

Finally we see four positions where an RHP has played a unforced move
allowing mate in one. An example of what’s on offer (it’s not on the blog).

@greenpawn34

How about you pick 10 squares, algebraic notation, and the patzers pick 10 and post their picks.

Whoever guessed the most correctly wins.

I figure the math is one out of six right?
( It can't be too easy)

It would be interesting to see people's biased choices like...

g6... obviously he plays the Modern Defense.
c4... no tactics please!
d4... another London System πŸ™„

My squares have special meaning and the examples I gave are just examples.

It would be so much fun πŸ€—

If Mikhail played a game against his home country, the abbreviations by the side of the board would be Tal - Lat.

Not a competition, just an amusing observation.

Hi Booger,

I had something like that in mind a few days ago but only 3 squares (Tal = 3).
Then I thought just one square (odds are 64-1) first to get it wins the book.
I'll think of something before the next blog.

@greenpawn34

If it's only one square then the people who guess late will have better odds no?

Or people with 20 different accounts 😁

But if someone waits till a few guesses are in then they might be too late.
Also the square I choose will not be random. It will have a Tal significance.
But I'm running with another idea at the moment. (nor chess board squares.)

I’d have liked to be crapablanca or maybe krapov but I guess I’ll stick with moonbus.
