1. e4 c6 2. f4 ...
Has anyone seen this attack made on the Caro-Kann?
Does anyone know if it is a named variation and, if so, what that name is?
Thanks.

I was contemplating an opening system for White with 1.e4 and, almost regardless of Black's reply, 2.f4 π
there is an online chess database you can use -

there seems to be about 19 games from the position 1 e4 c6 2 f4 d5
i prefer the black pieces in this position, especially if white advances with 3 e5... but i tend to play the french defence. On the plus side, you will get your opponent out of his "book" which can only be a good thing! hope this helpsπ
