You saw the picture of the wee lad, I even took a snap of his score
book so I could record the game. A great moment for him, I was there,
he was overjoyed, don't try and knock it.
Let the wee lad have his day in the sun.
OK so Keti did not switch into GM mode for this game.
She did v Aagaard (draw) and beat most of the other very good players
who sat down including GM slayer Hugh Brechin and Andrew Green.
(most players did not keep a score, else I would have shown one of
her fine wins).
Originally posted by greenpawn34this reminds me of the time when the keyboard player of HIM drew anand in a simul maybe 3 years ago. I don't really know how good he is, but I'd suspect not that good. at least he isn't rated in finnish chess federation. from a mutual friend I know that they play chess on tour bus (yay for decadent rock 'n' roll life), but I'd guess that's about it.

a huge triumph for an amateur/casual player, but then again anand isn't the kind of guy who'd insist on beating the low rated opponent in a friendly game. he'll smile, shake hands, and let the little fish have his day. he's strong enough to not have to prove it every single time. a lion is a lion even when it's taking a nap, and everybody around the lion knows that. I'd guess something like that happened with keti and the kid as well.
