Very nice. You don't really seem like a "1325-1350" player, and I mean that as a compliment. I don't think you'll be back in the 1300s any time soon unless you timeout a bunch of games or something. If I were "really" a 1300s level player in that tourney, I'm not sure I'd be thrilled at your being in the tournament.

So (0-1100) and (1100-1125)'s tournaments wouldn't be good either?😡

Actually your case would be a good reason to have fixed lower rating floors. Having reached 1750 at one point, where is the point in playing in the low rated banded tournaments?

Totally agree, I'd much rather be playing 1600 rated players as well.

What's sandbagging?

Deliberately keeping your rating low to win tournaments, although money is usually involved.

Or making a mockery of the "bannded tournament system". Either way you are within the rules, so what do I know?

Give him a break. I was accused of sandbagging too once and I didn't even enter any banded tournament. He can't enter 1700-1800 tournament right now, so blame the system or post some good idea in site idea to prevent this.

There is life beyond chess, you know. πŸ˜›

Indeed there is life beyond chess. Oh and why do people have then to spoil banded tournaments for the other players, there are unbanded ones, too.

And yes I do know that it is "legal" (as in ones right) to enter all tourneys which they can. And I still plead for a minimum rating floor.

Here I agree with you. Rating floor would be very good. There must be serious thread created in the "Site ideas" and I believe that a lot of members will reccomend the thread, start discussion and support the idea.

Diet Coke's peak rating used to be in the 1700 range.
