I played this game in blitz, I put forth a half-hearted effort to win once I immediatley fell behind in the opening, I'm thinking my opponent thought he had this game in the bag until he lost his queen, whereupon he started frantically trying to counter attack which only led to another blunder.

I know I'm guilty of this myself sometimes to, has anyone had a similar expierence?

The first game is too horrible to deserve comment.

In second game, what if he simply played 25.Rxe1. Did you have a plan on how to win from that position?

The first game was basically an even game until hung his queen and rook for no good reason. In the second game, you did a nice job with the discovered attack on the queen, but honestly, it was a bad blunder of him not to see it. Also, if he'd simply have taken the rook on the 25th move, you have about an even game. This must have been either a really fast blitz game or your opponent must have been a little distracted or drunk not to have seen that his rook was hanging on move 25.
