What are all those players, up 1100, doing in A shot at the title ?
Again an example of the rating nonsense and tournament-problems.

Unless they joined on rating 1100 or less and have won some games since.

You are right,Croc and me posted something about that in the tournament forum, but seems that's nothing to do with it because they enter with 1098 and then they won some games.
As Croc says there must be a cap of 50 points so superior players can't join.
The same problem is in the New server lower ,where 2 players entered even though they joined also the new server mid..........

The same problem
It's possible to have a final check before starting the tournament, the high rated players could be unscribed, letting others in from the list of subscribers who subscribed after the maximum players limit ..... Easy.

Hi,

Please see a suggestion I have posted in the Tournaments thread that may address this issue.

I think Chris is on the right track with this idea.

I posted something similar to this in the tourney forum, but I would like to do so here as well. I've been thinking about this issue a lot lately, and I would like to appeal to players to please be considerate when signing up for a tourney. Please ask yourself if you believe your level of play is appropriate for the tourney, regardless of you rating at the time. This is exactly why I am not going to enter this tourney, even though I qualify.

I understand completely i know i managed to squeeze in to the tournament but i did have a run of 8 or 9 games losing on the bounce. The idea of highest rating in the last 30 days is a good idea, which means there would be less chance of coming in at a level where you should not be or highest rating ever because you are capable of beating people at that level. My highest level is 1226 i think and qualifies me for lower tournaments where i have a chance.. I am happy to withdraw from the tournament if anyone has a problem with it. i have managed to pick up some wins against the higher players who shouldnt be in the new year lower which has brought my level back up.HO has a valid point.
