If I remember rightly, Akizy saw some rediculous 14 move forced mate or something of the sort, and assumed that Ivanhoe had seen it, and that it was his reason for playing Bxe5. Apparently he forgot he was playing a 1800 player who was unlikely to have seen a 14 move combo.

No. Akizy clearly was winning this game, the Seadevil game had a crazy mate in 14, it has been discussed many times that this game was a gift
