Funny, I always envisioned Alekhine as being some kind of total alpha-male that would speak in the clipped, authoritarian tone of an overlord, with a deep voice and kick-ass manly style of delivery, instead of the somewhat reedy, fruity way he talked. What a disappointment.

Did you know Alekhine played against 5 Masters at once in one game?
They chased his king out to the middle of the board but he beat them anyways. Anyone have that game?

I also read that he was quite an alcoholic... they had to stop once of his simuls cause he urinated on the floor. <GASP>

I believe the urinating into a waste paper basket incident occured at the famous Manhattan Chess Club in NYC. That was teh funnay!! Alekhine must have had a red face the next day!

Actually, the radio interviewer got his name wrong, it's pronounced al-yekh-een.
