Alekhine's Gun

Anyone got any games here in which they managed to gun someone down with this?

What about games where it didn't work?

Tell me: What is Alekhine's Gun?

I'm guessing he's asking for games where someone won with the alekhine's defense?

No, alekhine's gun = queen and 2 rooks in a line:

Yeah, best when queen is at the back, of course. Hrm, I don't think I've got any on here, but early in my chess development I tried to set it up as often as I could, but soon found out that I was often sacrificing more important parts of the position. It's pretty hard to set up, because people just won't let you. 😛

I think the Queen belong in the middle most times.

The first rook to break thru and then the Queen can dart in with support.

Obviously, it all depends on the situation.

The queen is generally consider best in back, because there is not worry of trading rook for queen.

I have a reverse gun in this game here Game 2663411 on move 27.

It does depend on the situation, that is, if the queen is best in middle or at rear. I read one book that suggests middle is best.

Josh Waitzkin said in his Chess Master Academy that the ideal triple combination was 1 rook in front, Queen in the midde, other rook at the back

I know the answer to all of those questions.

it is mainly set up when the board is locked up with only one file open. one person is going back and forth because they cannot better thier position while the other opponent can set up the gun without worrying about anything else but that file.

i want to inject chess into my veins

i gotta guy trying to hit me with it in this game. its not gonna work well for him though. I hope he thinks it will though. No comments though as it is a live game please.
