I have been having a tough time finding an answer to the sicilian. Anybody have any reccomendations? I was looking into the smith-morra gambit but it seems like it may be flawed. I also don't want to memorize all the different lines of the sicilian (because there's a ton). Any suggestions are appreciated thanks

There's a trap in the Smith-Morra Gambit against black, so here comes a PM.

Well I dont usually like to advise this, but if you are really struggling, The c3 sicillian cuts out alot of theory.
However, I strongly reccomend playing the main lines before you switch to this, the reason you are struggling is because people tend not to play the sicillian until they have been playing the game for a while so you never get total beginners playing it.

Try the Yugoslav Attack against people rated below 1800 it should work wonders for the attacking player.(that is of course because players under 1800 are unlikely to defend perfectly against it)

I may recommend also 2.Nc3 or 2.f4 if it makes you feel better. 😀

I thought you were a brave chess warrior. There is no more brave an opening then the main line sicillians.
