I noticed that this two-volume set is out - Theory and Practice of Chess Endings, Vols. 1 + 2, by Panchenko. (English)

Supposedly the Panchenko program is a good one, but would it be over a novice's head? Anyone read the book? (I know that Convekta also offers the CD and DVD versions, but I'm not interested in them.)
