You should write to Russ if you really want a refund.
If you don't want a refund, there's no need to terminate an account - just stop coming here.
The avatar is the little picture next to each person's post. For example, mine is a picture of me from last Christmas and everyone tells me I'm hot. Ok, it's not me (so don't send me a million PMs). Anyhow, your little picture doesn't work. It just shows up as a box with a red X to all of us. I suspect that you picture is posted on your computer and not the internet or it's a bad link.
