Time to start a list of "Baby Killers".....folks who join banded tournaments far below their skill.
First on the list goes TRACKHEAD21 -- a 2200+ player on this site currently playing in the 1300-1500 banded tournament.
Way to go, you man of among men, kill those babies!

"What would you have him do? Not play any tournies at all?? Its not Tracks fault that the only tournies going at the moment are banded.
He needs games to lift his rating to a level that reflects his skill.
I blame RHP admin ( incl. Phlab et al ) for this situation as they could have resolved it very simply. I posted earlier that a solution might have been found in the act of just giving Track an honourary rating of about 1800 to lift him away from the vulnerable 1300 - 1700 players and effectively make him a more attractive player in terms of higher rated players who would be then more inclined to play him as, in the event of a loss, the drop in the rating would be less traumatic.
But no. It all fell on deaf ears so I say, stop whinning to Track and direct your gripes to Russ for it is he and he and his alone than can resolve this.
Failing that just get over it. Track will eventually regain the lost ground at the expense of lower rated players simply because Russ et al couldn't / didn't manage his return to active play."

What business is it of your's who subscribes and who doesn't?
Where exactly does your authority stem from, forum Nazi?

If there aren't any at the moment -- too bad. Just like it's too bad when I want to play a banded tournament and there aren't any open in my range at the moment.

What you don't is go kill a bunch of babies. You don't go to the gradeschool and beat up on the kiddies.
The Mods on this site may indeed need to come up with a solution, but until they do -- it depends on the rest of us having a little class.

Just in case there was too much suspens in this for anyone...Trackhead, amazingly, has won every game in the 1300-1500 tournament.
So surprising....given he's a 2200+ player.
Let's all put our hands together and congratulate Trackhead. What a man. What a mensh. What a guy we all can look up to.

btw, if he's a baby killer, does that make you a crybaby? 😕
Originally posted by RegicidalI'm cryin, alright. It's a cryin' shame that 30 or so people who joined a banded tournament in order to play within their level, are having that opportunity taken away from them.

No one has an opportunity to win. If I wanted to play against 2200 rated players, I'd join open tournaments, not banded ones.
Frankly, I think the best resort -- seeing as the mods have no intention of stopping this behavior, and their seems to be no end of high rated players willing to jump into low rated banded tournaments...the rest of us should simply resign all the games. Let the tournament end, and be restarted.
